The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology in the School of Medicine at the University of California, Davis, announces a search for a qualified clinician with strong diagnostic and administrative capabilities to direct the clinical activities of a Coccidioidomycosis Serology Laboratory.  The candidate will be recruited for this part-time or full-time position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank in the In Residence series.  Appointments to this series are expected to engage in responsibilities that include provision of serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis, reviewing results of serologic tests, providing consultation and written reports on serologic findings, and managing laboratory staff.  Biomedical investigative effort may be expected. 

Candidates must possess an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D. and be board certified or eligible to be certified with the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology, or the American Board of Medical Microbiology, or board certified in internal medicine (infectious diseases) or pathology, or any other boards approved under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act.  Experience with serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis, reviewing results of serologic tests, providing consultation and written reports on serologic findings and managing laboratory staff. Training and experience in microbiology and immunology and a background in teaching and administration is desirable.  Collaborations with clinical and research programs at UC Davis and the UC Davis Medical Center are available.
