Post-Doctoral Position in Tumor Biology/Drug Development in a Core Facility

Applications are invited for a full time Post-Doctoral position in the Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center University of Maryland, Baltimore campus in the Translational Core Lab (a CORE facility).  Candidates interested in a career working in a core facility possessing a Ph.D. degree with experience in in vivo cancer modeling are invited to apply.  Successful candidate will assist in managing the in vivo group of this Core.  He/she will work with principal investigators to test hypotheses in vivo and /or test novel agent for toxicity, pharmacokinetics and efficacy in cancer models. Preference will be given to those who have worked in the field of cancer. Candidates should have first-hand experience in animal handling, dosing by oral, IP and IV routes, animal surgery, cell culture, and related biochemical techniques (including western blot, real-time PCR, Western blots preferred); organizational skills, summarize data in written and oral form; be capable of performing and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks, design and execute experiments, critically interpret results, contribute to the preparation of grant applications and publications. He/she must be able to be able to operate Microsoft Office.

Required: Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cellular Biology, Immunology or Health related field, and a strong record of research accomplishments.  Applicants with a background in solid tumor or leukemia/lymphoma are highly desired.

Desired: Two years’ experience handling mice, dosing mice, survival surgery, and molecular biology techniques and tissue cell culture preferable.
