Established in 1896, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university in China. Pharmacy discipline of SJTU was founded in the early 1950s and selected as one of top six in the country by Ministry of Education of China in 2017. Moreover, “Pharmacology and Toxicology” in SJTU is ranked 31st by US News, top 0.67‰ by ESI in March 2019, and top 51-100 in 2019 QS World University Ranking by Subject. SJTU offers a thriving interdisciplinary environment for education and research. The candidate must have expertise in fundamental and applied research of a relevant pharmacy discipline or closely related fields. Representative areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemical & Microbial Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy and Clinical Pharmacy.

Chair/Distinguished Professors(Tenured Position) 

Qualifications:

1. Possessing rigorous academic character, with dedication to academic integrity and teaching excellence.

2. Holding a PhD degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy or closely related fields with professor position (or equivalent) in world-class universities or research institutes.  Give priority to winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Cheung Kong Scholars Distinguished Professor, etc.

3. Having an outstanding record of scientific and technical accomplishment, an exceptional potential for world-class research, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education.

4. Possessing innovative and strategic thinking and the ability of leading on the discipline construction.

Tenured Professors 

Qualifications: 

1. Possessing rigorous academic character, with dedication to academic integrity and teaching excellence.

2. Holding a PhD degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy or closely related fields with professor position (or equivalent) in well-known domestic universities or associate professor positions (or equivalent) in world-class universities or research institutes. 

3. Having significant accomplishments, an exceptional potential for research, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education.

4. Possessing active academic thinking for development on the discipline construction.

Tenure-track Associate/Assistant Professors

Qualifications:

1. Possessing rigorous academic character, with dedication to academic integrity and teaching excellence.

2. Holding a PhD degree (or equivalent) in pharmacy or closely related fields from a world-class university or research institute.

3. Having at least 3 years of academic work experience in world-class universities or research institutes (only for Tenure-track Associate Professors). Exceptionally outstanding overseas PhD can be exempted from the working year requirement.

4. Having innovative research in academic foreland, an exceptional potential for world-class research, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education.

5. Having clear research directions in line with needs of discipline development.
