The Role:

This position is seeking a Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate who will be responsible for manufacturing and characterization of mRNA formulations within a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary environment. Understanding of nanoparticle manufacturing process, fluid mechanics, and biophysical / chemical characterization is essential for this position. Experience with nucleic acid delivery or pharmaceutical drug development is a plus. The candidate will be responsible for executing lab experiments, performing stability assessments, reporting results, maintaining a high-quality lab notebook and working within a larger team of formulation scientists and associates. The successful candidate must have a foundation in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences and materials science. Applicants should be flexible team members able to function in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Preparation of novel mRNA formulations and scale-up manufacturing support
  • Biophysical and chemical characterization of novel formulations using analytical techniques such as dynamic light scattering, UV, and HPLC
  • Query the literature for nanoparticle process improvements and implement new concepts into practice
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed record of experiments
  • Maintain accountability for project success and results delivery
  • Contribute to scientific discussions to advance and enhance platforms and product candidates
  • Communicate research and actively participate at group meetings

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS / MS with 0-5 years (0-3 for Masters) of industry experience in drug delivery, or nanoparticle formulation process
  • Strong foundation in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, material sciences or related field.
  • Expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization is desired. A knowledge of nucleic acid delivery strategies is a plus
  • Curious in exploring new path for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental design, a collaborative team-player working closely with multi-functional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes.
