ABOUT US

ITMO University (St. Petersburg, Russia) offers position of researcher at the International Research Center of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials (metalab.ifmo.ru), led by Professor Pavel Belov.

Scientific groups of the Center specialize in the following directions:

  • dielectric and quantum nanophotonics
  • biophotonics
  • topological photonics
  • nanoplasmonics
  • optical and microwave metamaterials and metasurfaces
  • meta-devices for MRI
  • wireless power transmission
  • nanooptomechanics

We have strong cooperation with many acknowledged universities, including Texas University in Dallas, University of Utrecht, University of Aalto, University of Iceland, Nanyang Technological University, Australian National University within the framework of research and educational projects. The Research Center has won two mega-grants (a program to attract leading world scientists into Russian research and educational organizations), several Russian grants and the European Horizon 2020 grant.

The Center has state-of-the-art experimental and computing equipment for conducting high-level scientific researches (plasmonics, dielectric nanophotonics, sources of single photons and their applications), as well as for implementing business-oriented projects. Among the latter - the development of wireless radio frequency coils for MRI (the work is recognized by the ISMRM community at the conference of the same name), wireless power transmission, solar cells based on perovskites, as well as perovskite LEDs, etc.

We have significant scientific resources and international level achievements proven by publications in high-impact journals, such as Nature Photonics, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Physical Review Letters, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Nanoscale, ACS Photonics and etc.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews will be conducted via Skype.
