The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate for a contractor position based at Cambridge, MA. The individual in this role will be a highly skilled, talented and motivated scientist that will be focused on method development /pre- qualifications/ transfers, c haracterization of mRNA drug substance and drug product and raw materials to support mRNA therapeutic development. H e/she will also perform biophysical characterization of mRNA if needed. The individual will work with other RAs and Scientists within the Analytical Development and across the Moderna ecosystem. The anticipated time frame for this role is 6 months.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Preparation of samples for characterization studies
  • Undertakes analytical testing using established methods and generate high quality data to support internal drug development activities
  • Participates in method development /pre- qualifications/ using HPLC, UHPLC, CE and other analytical instruments
  • Maintains accurate records of experiments and communicate effectively to the analytical team on analytical findings, issue and solutions
  • Ability to multi-task to meet aggressive timelines, and technology development and research goals
  • Presents the results/findings internally and to cross functional teams
  • Accountable for project success and results delivery

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS with at least 3 years of industry experience (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science),
  • Experience in developing and performing analytical, molecular, biochemical and/or biophysical assays
  • Experience in method development to support drug development
  • Hands on experience with HPLC and UPLCs
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment
  • Experience in performing biophysical characterization of biologics is highly desired
