The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the Division of Molecular and Translational Biomedicine seeks to fill the position of Associate Professor or Professor (tenure earning or tenured).

This position is aligned with one of the strategic goals of the Department to expand basic, translational and clinical research into chronic pain and related conditions. Researcher will perform high impact research on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the development of pathologic pain, biological processes for pain and sensory signals, spinal cord and brain pain circuits, and mouse genetics of pain research. Applicants should have established research programs and current extramural support from NIH. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. PhD and/or MD degree with demonstrated excellence in pain research.
