A Postdoctoral Associate position is available starting immediately at the University of Minnesota Center for Drug Design for an NIH-funded project on herpesvirus drug discovery in the Geraghty lab (https://drugdesign.umn.edu/bio/cdd-faculty-staff/robert-geraghty).
This project uses a target-centric approach to identify small molecule inhibitors blocking human cytomegalovirus enzymes required for genome packaging and virus assembly. An additional emphasis is to investigate inhibitor mechanism of action during virus replication and characterization of possible virus resistance.
The Center for Drug Design is a dynamic workplace where virologists, biochemists and chemists interact to facilitate drug discovery. https://drugdesign.umn.edu
