The Williams Lab in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at the MSU Grand Rapids Research Center is seeking to hire a (Postdoctoral) Research Associate specializing in neuronal electrophysiology. The goal of our research is to determine the role of neurodevelopmental disorder candidate genes (such as those implicated in autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy) in synapse formation and function. We specialize in the development and application of viral and transgenic tools to understand the molecular mechanisms of synapse development. Therefore, this position can offer training in diverse techniques such as cloning, biochemistry, and microscopy; or the opportunity to develop further specialized expertise in electrophysiology.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Neurology, biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
Minimum Requirements
Candidate must possess a terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) to be eligible for consideration.
Desired Qualifications
Researchers with three (3) or more years' experience with path-clamp electrophysiology using mouse brain slice preparations are preferred.
