Assistant Professor of Microbiology
The Indiana University School of Medicine-Terre Haute seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the department of Microbiology and Immunology. The successful candidate will establish an independent, externally funded research program. Laboratory space and start-up funds are available. Indiana University School of Medicine-Terre Haute promotes a collaborative research environment with access to core facilities. Additional responsibilities will include participation in the teaching of Microbiology in our integrated medical school curriculum. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellence in research, in addition to possessing an ability to participate in the teaching of medical students. Indiana University School of Medicine prides itself on its commitment to the success of its junior faculty and provides a robust mentoring environment.
Ideal candidates will have a highly interactive research program with the potential to synergize or enhance those of the department and the institution. Areas of interest include but are not limited to microbial pathogenesis in the nervous system, host metabolism and inflammation, proteomics, and translational research. Candidates working at any or all ranges of microbiology (molecular, cellular, and organismal) will be considered. Applicants at the Associate Professor level are expected to have external funding, a high level of research productivity, national recognition of their research and experience teaching at the medical school level.
