The Director, NIAMS, provides leadership, vision, and direction for a nationally recognized program, with responsibility for formulating and implementing plans and policies necessary to carry out the Institute’s mission.
We are looking for applicants with a commitment to scientific excellence and the energy, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking necessary to lead within a dynamic and diverse organization. Applicants must possess an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in the biomedical sciences and have senior-level research experience and knowledge of research programs in one or more scientific areas related to arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases. The successful candidate for this position will be appointed at a salary commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and full Federal benefits, including leave, health and life insurance, retirement and savings plan (401K equivalent) will be provided.
