The Max Planck Research Unit for Neurogenetics invites applications for a

Max Planck Research Group Leader

The Max Planck Research Unit for Neurogenetics pursues a genetic approach to understand the mechanisms of odorant receptor gene expression and axonal wiring in the olfactory system of the mouse. 

We are looking for a scientist who has been developing an original research program in neuroscience as a postdoc and who is ready to start her/his own independent research group.

The successful candidate will be offered a position of Max Planck Research Group Leader. This position is scientifically and budgetarily independent. It comes with generous funding for startup equipment, personnel, and running costs. The initial appointment is for 5 years, with the option of a merit-based extension of 2 x 2 years, and is equivalent to a W2 professorship.
