The Dehm Lab at the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to study mechanisms of prostate cancer progression with emphasis on resistance to targeted therapies.  Training will occur in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment that provides opportunities to develop new technical skills, acquire new knowledge, and advance a career in translational cancer research.  The successful candidate is expected to develop and lead independent research projects that will culminate in high-profile publications.

Responsibilities generally include to participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of research; develop experimental procedures; analyze, prepare and present data to study investigators; and author, co-author, and otherwise collaborate on reports, conference papers and publications  

This is a professionals-in-training position limited to period of 3 up to 5 year depending on training needs.

Required:

  • Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related discipline, and at least one first-author publication in a biomedical journal. 
  • Experience with cell culture and molecular biology is essential.

Preferred:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with experimental techniques including quantitative PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation,  western blot, cell transfection, lentivirus infection, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing. 
  • Candidates having experience in analysis of large genomics data sets are highly desirable.
