Post Doctoral Research Fellow

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (laboratory of Yuri Persidsky, https://medicine.temple.edu/yuri-persidsky) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the mechanisms of blood brain barrier injury and neuroinflammation in diabetes, HIV infection and alcohol abuse using in vitro models of the neurovascular unit (co-culture of primary brain endothelial cells, pericytes, astrocytes) and in vivo models (neuroinflammation including in vivo imaging of brain microvasculature, HIV infection in humanized mice). The ultimate goal is to delineate therapeutic options for identified targets.

Qualifications: The position requires experience with mouse models and/or human immunology is important. The training environment is highly collaborative and includes both PhD and MD scientists working in modern lab space with state-of-the-art equipment and other resources. The candidate must have a strong track record of innovative research and ability to complete projects independently during previous training. The successful candidate will have a PhD/MD in life sciences, preferably immunology, cell or molecular biology, with experience incellular immunology, flow cytometry, and tissue culture
