Assistant Professor (Full-Time)

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Center for Vascular and Inflammatory Diseases is recruiting for a full-time Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position. The expected rank is Assistant Professor; however, rank and tenure status are dependent on the candidate’s qualifications. The University offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful recruit supervise complex studies in vitro and in vivo evaluating the interaction of Semaphorin 4A with Plexin B1, and the ability of this interaction to suppress asthma symptoms, thereby enhancing research programs. A high level of expertise in supervising biomedical research, Semaphorin A biology, and allergic inflammation models is required for this position.

 

This individual will also actively participate in seminar series, journal clubs, and disseminating results to the local and national communities.

             Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. with 5 years of experience supervising research as a junior faculty member, expertise in supervising mouse models of allergic lung inflammation and measures of airway hyperreactivity including technical expertise with Buxco and Flexivent measures.
