Post-doctoral Position in Neurodevelopment, Cognitive & Nutritional Neuroscience

Applications are invited from outstanding, highly motivated individuals for a post-doctoral position focused on the influence of nutritional factors on behavioral and cognitive development in infants and children. The position is within the Brain Function Laboratory, Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Ongoing projects are investigating the role of nutrition in neurocognitive development and functioning in infants and children using behavioral, neurophysiological (high-density EEG/ERP) and imaging techniques. The successful candidate will participate in designing experiments, analyzing existing developmental physiological and behavioral datasets, and learning/exploring conceptual and data processing approaches to integrating and interpreting outcomes. The position involves working with an interdisciplinary team of basic, clinical, and data scientists using experimental, clinical and bioinformatics approaches. A strong dedication to working in a team is therefore essential.

Applicants should have Ph.D. or M.D. with experience and training in electrophysiology, data acquisition and processing. Additional experience and training in cognitive neuroscience or a related field is desirable but not required. Experience with experimental and analytical tools (e.g., Matlab, E-Prime, SPSS, R) is an asset.  U.S. citizenship is not required; however, fluency in English and strong oral and written communications skills are a must.

This position provides a rich environment to learn novel methodologies and develop unique longitudinal datasets in a collaborative fashion. Compensation is negotiable based on experience. Please send a copy of your CV and names of three professional references to R. Terry Pivik (pivikterry@uams.edu) or Linda Larson-Prior (LJLarsonprior@uams.edu). For more information visit here.
