Postdoctoral Scholar in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

A postdoctoral position is available for a highly motivated individual interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of a cascade of enzymes that regulate nearly every facet of cell biology in humans. Specifically, research in the lab is focused on enzymes in the ubiquitin pathway, including how they function to maintain homeostasis and how dysregulation of these enzymes leads to disease states.  The nature of protein-protein interactions will also be studied in the context of how these enzymes achieve substrate specificity and promiscuity.  These issues will be addressed using a multidisciplinary approach that includes X-ray crystallography complemented with biochemical/biophysical techniques and yeast genetics.

Candidates should hold a recently obtained PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or related subject, with demonstrated expertise in X-ray crystallography and/or the biochemical analysis of protein ubiquitination.

Interested candidates should e-mail a cover letter, CV, and the names of three references to olsensk@musc.edu and apply online at:
