Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Molecular Biology or Microbiology at Brigham Young University

Department Description: The department seeks to fill one faculty vacancy. MMBIO is a dynamic department that currently has over 650 undergraduate students with degrees offered in Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Medical Laboratory Sciences. The department also has a graduate program of over 30 students that offers Ph.D. and M.S. degrees.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Molecular Biology, Microbiology or a related discipline, post-doctoral experience and a record of research accomplishments.
Duties/Expectations: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in molecular biology, mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research, maintain a consistent publication record, actively seek external research funding, and be involved in professional service. Applicants with teaching and research capabilities in any aspect of molecular biology, microbiology or immunology will be considered. To strengthen current research programs within the department and meet department needs, applicants whose area of expertise involves molecular biology, genomics/bioinformatics, working with select agents (BSL3) and which complements existing areas of departmental strength are preferred.
Approximate starting salary range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
