Department of Genetics - Assistant Professor, tenure track, Computational Genomics

The Department of Genetics, Division of Genomics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine has a position available for a new faculty member. Assistant Professor, tenure track, Computational Genomics. A tenure track faculty position is available for a computational genomicist. Concurrent wet bench research and expertise will be viewed as a positive, but the major focus of the new recruit's research program should be on genomic data analysis and interpretation. A human disease interest will also be seen as a strength as this faculty member develops her/his research program in this medical school. The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a residential area minutes from Westchester County and a short commute to Manhattan. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to develop an independent, interdisciplinary research program. Collaboration will be encouraged with the Einstein-Montefiore faculty, the affiliated New York Genome Center, and the broader New York City research community. The new faculty colleague will be expected to pursue basic research and to participate in the expansion of innovative research programs at this institution. A track record of collaboration with molecular biologists, biostatisticians or clinicians is desirable (demonstrated through publications or funding support). Areas of specialization may include but are not limited to human and model organism studies and the genetics of complex diseases. The investigator will be appointed to the Division of Genomics (with mentorship by Division Chief Dr. John Greally) within the Department of Genetics, with potential secondary appointment opportunities in other departments. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. Generous start-up funding and protected time for research will be provided. Applicants should hold a doctoral-level degree in a related discipline.
