Summer Intern, Informatics

The Role:

The Summer Intern, Informatics will report to a senior Informatics software engineer and will be responsible for working with the other members of the team to deliver software solutions to support Moderna Research and Development. As a Moderna software engineer, you will work directly with users to understand requirements and then work with your team to design, develop, and deploy custom software solutions.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Work closely with scientists and clinical leads to understand complex scientific challenges and design solutions
  • Develop full stack JavaScript web applications as part of a team
  • Deploy cloud-based applications to AWS using Docker
  • Deliver automated algorithms and analytics as part of applications
  • Integrate applications with instruments to drive automation and collect data
  • Deliver solutions to users in an extremely rapid, agile cycle
  • Contribute to many different projects in a dynamic, fast-moving environment


Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.4
  • Currently Enrolled Junior or Senior
  • Familiarly with web technologies including HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL and modeling relational databases. PostgreSQL experience preferred.
  • Previous co-op or intern experience preferred.
  • Must be curious, eager, open to learning, and independent.
