Laboratory Technician

This is a research position in a vision science laboratory located in Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine. The position involves extensive work with laboratory mice, including management of a large mouse breeding colony. It also involves performing biochemistry and molecular experiments. Experimental methods include preparing tissue samples, PCR, gel analysis of DNA, immunoblotting, mammalian tissue culture, and HPLC analysis of retinoids.

Required Experience: Experience working with laboratory mice. Experience with PCR and gel analysis of DNA. Experience with mammalian tissue culture. Minimum of one year experience working in a biomedical research laboratory (not including laboratory course work).
