Assistant Professor - Center of Emphasis in Cancer - Tenure Track
Faculty Positions in Basic and Translational Cancer Research
The Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Center of Emphasis in Cancer invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek individuals with Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degrees with a record of accomplishment in basic or translational cancer research. We are particularly interested in individuals who are completing post-doctoral training and are looking for an initial faculty position, but also will consider applicants with several years of faculty experience.
Ideal candidates should have scientific expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas, particularly as they relate to breast, colon, liver, cervical and prostate cancers: cancer development and progression, experimental therapeutics, cancer biomarkers, and cancer genomics and proteomics.
Successful candidates will be expected to:
· Contribute to the university’s mission
· Develop and maintain rigorous, externally funded research programs
· Participate in the center’s activities
· Teach and mentor students, fellows and other trainees
· Engage in cancer research activities both statewide and nationally
Recruited faculty will be supported by generous start-up funds, a competitive salary, modern facilities and instrumentation, and administrative and infrastructure support. Faculty with clinical interests in oncology will be eligible for a secondary appointment in another department in the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine.
