GYN/ONC CANCER Research Faculty Position
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will hold a M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent track record of research accomplishments including extramural funding. Candidates at the Associate and Full Professor levels are expected to demonstrate leadership and recognition in their discipline. We are interested in individuals with research focus in GYN/ONC cancer (ovarian, endometrial/uterine, and cervical) to add to our robust cadre of young investigators in GYN/ONC cancer. This is one of the areas of research thrust in the Department that interfaces with MCW Cancer Center (MCWCC). We prefer investigators who have an already established research program that can complement the clinical interests of the GYN/ONC division in the Department. The candidate especially at the Associate and Full Professor levels are expected to mentor junior scientists in the Department and will collaborate and interface extensively with Cancer Center members and other ongoing initiatives on the campus such as the future NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center application. R-funded investigators will be given preference. Teaching opportunities to train residents, fellows, graduate and medical students are available, and applicants with excellent teaching and mentoring skills are desirable.
The Department of OBGYN has an established strong clinical trials program that accomplishes defined objectives ranging from conception to end of life. Department members have strong interactions with the Clinical & Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin, Cardiovascular Center, MCWCC, Genomic Science and Precision Medicine Center, Blood Research Institute and Children’s Research Institute. There is potential for joint appointments with other basic science departments and centers on campus.
