Responsibilities
Postdoctoral position immediately available to investigate the genetic and molecular mechanisms that underlie congenital heart disease. The Gruber lab utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate the molecular and genetic basis of human congenital heart disease. Through deep sequencing (WES and WGS) of both large cohorts and informative families, we have a identified several novel genetic associations that require mechanistic investigation. Recent work (Dev Cell, Stem Cells) has uncovered a series of progenitor cell populations whose single cell transcriptional signal is enriched with damaging mutations identified in human cohorts. Our lab employs mouse modeling, tissue culture, biochemical assays, and a variety of informatic approaches to understand the mechanisms that guide tissue movements in the developing heart. The applicant should be highly motivated with a PhD or MD/PhD and be prepared to perform self-directed research in a close-knit laboratory environment at Yale University. Prior experience in molecular biological techniques and mouse modeling is preferred.
Qualifications
PhD or MD/PhD
Experience in mouse modeling and colony management is preferred.
