The Center for Metabolic Disease Research (CMDR) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Professor levels whose research program is in the field of biomedical and bioinformatics.

Qualified applicants will have M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, have completed rigorous training and demonstrated the ability to develop an independent, extramurally-funded research program. The ideal candidate for the biomedical scientist will have expertise and have applied cutting-edge approaches in studying metabolic process and biochemical, molecular and cellular basis of metabolic disorders and chronic kidney/liver disease. The qualified bioinformatician will have expertise in computational sciences focusing on using existing bioinformatics tools and developing new bioinformatics/statistical algorithms and tools to analyze various omics data, including single cell transcriptomics, HiC-Seq, non-coding transcriptomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics, glycomics, foodomics, immunomics, pharmacogenomics, and omics medicine with demonstrated excellence in collaborations.

Faculty members in CMDR come from the LKSOM with the common bond being overlapping interests in metabolic disease research. All CMDR faculty members have academic appointments within a basic science or clinical department. We invite applications from adjunct professors, who are our close collaborators in research, from other universities or institutions to join our team. The CMDR has extensive research and education programs, and will facilitate collaboration and promote excellence in research, education, and service.
