The College of St. Scholastica invites applications for a tenure track biology faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2019. The successful applicant will teach biology courses for biology majors and pre-health science majors. All courses should integrate evolution as a unifying principle. Courses may include cell biology, the first-year biology sequence, and additional biology electives The individual hired will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, develop an undergraduate research program, participate in faculty committee work, and foster a culture of inclusion in both the classroom and research laboratory. The department values diversity among its faculty and strongly encourages applications from women and minorities. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. Applications received by February 23 will receive priority consideration.

Responsibilities:
- Teach selected courses in cell biology and other biology courses.

- Participate in the work of The College through faculty committees, governance and other opportunities.

- Develop a research program suitable for undergraduates. 

- Contribute to and participate in fostering a culture of inclusion in support of College diversity goals.

Qualifications:

A PhD in biology or a related field with a strong background in cell biology; demonstrated success working with diverse populations, cross-cultural communication skills, and multicultural competency is required.  College teaching experience is preferred.
