The Yan Lab studies intestinal stem cell biology using multi-disciplinary approaches including mouse genetics, biochemistry, single-cell genomics and organoid platforms. We investigate the behavior of intestinal stem cells in regeneration of the intestinal epithelium during health and disease, as well as how to manipulate them for therapeutic benefit. We are located in the Columbia Center for Human Development, Department of Medicine Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. We are also part of the Department of Genetics & Development and the Columbia Stem Cell Initiative.
