Chair, Department of Neuroscience

The Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in Charleston, S.C., invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Neuroscience.  Applicants must possess a PhD and/or MD and are expected to have a history of continued funding and an active research program, a strong record of accomplishment in mentoring postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty, administrative and leadership skills, and a commitment to education and academic excellence.

The Department of Neuroscience is ranked eighth nationally for NIH awards and has strong research programs in addiction/substance abuse, neurodegeneration and stroke, and in vivo imaging, recording and stimulation technologies. The educational program includes robust Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. training programs in neuroscience and a strong postdoctoral training program, constituting 44 graduate students and 42 postdoctoral fellows.
