Postdoctoral Research Opportunity: Mechanistic Studies of the Proton-Coupled Folate Transporter

A postdoctoral position is available for studies on the structure-function, molecular genetics, regulation and biological/pharmacological role of PCFT. This transporter, discovered in this laboratory, is mutated in the autosomal recessive disorder, hereditary folate malabsorption, also a focus of study. PCFT mediates intestinal folate absorption, folate transport across the choroid plexus and transport of antifolate chemotherapeutics.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a residential area of Northeast Bronx in close proximity to City Island and Westchester County with easy access to Manhattan.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information.

Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology and a track record of productivity during their doctoral training. Experience in physiology and modeling is desirable. This is a participating laboratory in the Experimental Therapeutics Program of the NCI-designated Albert Einstein Cancer Center.
