Overall Description

We are looking postdoctoral research candidate to work in a project on magnetically powered microbots for cardiovascular and pulmonary drug delivery applications. The work is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and directed by Profs. Keith Neeves (University of Colorado, Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus) and David Marr (Colorado School of Mines). This position is renewable annually for up to 2 years. The salary structure is both attractive and nationally competitive. Other benefits include health/dental insurance, vacation/sick leave and access to all University facilities. The position is available immediately.  

Specific Position Duties

Responsibilities will include designing, fabricating, testing, and implement magnetic fields and optics to assemble, translate, and image microbots in complex three-dimensional in vivo and in vitro environments. The postdoc on this project will work with a team that includes engineers, biologists, and clinicians. The ability to communicate across disciplines is essential. 


Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in biomedical, chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, applied physics, or closely related field. 
  • The successful candidate must have a strong publication record in high-impact journals and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Expertise in instrumentation, electrical and magnetic fields, and control theory are of particular interest.
