The Center of Emphasis in Diabetes and Metabolism at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine invites applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level.  The department seeks individuals with Ph.D., M.D., M.D.-Ph.D., or equivalent degrees with expertise and a record of accomplishments in basic and/or translational research.  Ideal candidates should have research experience pertinent to diabetes, obesity or related areas of investigation with expertise in one or more of the following areas: disease mechanisms and pathophysiology, early disease development and progression; biomarker development; proteomics; metabolomics; genomics; or experimental therapeutics.  Areas of particular interest are: islet cell biology, including beta-cell differentiation and regeneration; the metabolic consequences of sleep-disordered breathing; and the genetics, genomics, and/or epigenetics of diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
