Could you manage a team of scientists undertaking algorithm developments, and calibration validation activities for operational Passive Microwave sensors and Radio Occultation instruments?

The role

We are seeking an experienced remote sensing expert to lead and coordinate our team of enthusiastic scientists, all experts in their own disciplines within a competence area covering Passive Microwave sensors and Radio Occultation instruments.

You will manage the Competence Area and its resources, including the development of the scientific knowledge to support the exploitation and evolution of our instrument chains.  You will lead on the evaluation of algorithms used in level-1 and/or level-2 processing chains for current and future satellite systems along with defining and executing calibration and validation plans. In this role you will have the chance to interact with user communities, analysing their feedback on current products and potential new requirements. You will also support the Satellite Application Facilities (SAFs) involved in the extraction of products from passive microwave and radio occultation instrument chains.

What we offer

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative, international environment offering you a competitive salary and outstanding benefits. We offer the chance to work on exciting satellite programmes - both current and planned. You will play a leading role in the application of remote sensing science; making a difference to our user community and working with people who are experts in their field.
