We are currently looking for a talented post-doctoral researcher to join the Neuroimmunology in Stroke Research Lab, led by Dr. Hanafy. Local and International Applicants are welcome. Our unique location within the vibrant Longwood Medical Area, in the heart of Boston, allows for an excellent environment to collaborate with world-class scientists. The Department of Neurology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has a strong history of productive research and is a major teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School. This is a unique opportunity for the successful, hard-working, post-doctoral researcher to attend seminars and classes at Harvard Medical School to learn from excellent scientists from all over the world, and provides the productive applicant with a platform to launch their career. The Hanafy Neuroimmunology in Stroke Research Lab is interested in a type of stroke that results in brain bleeding, called subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Our lab is interested in the innate and adaptive immune responses that occur after SAH, the molecular mechanisms by which these reactions occur, and gender differences in these responses.

 

The successful applicant will have

 

-a PhD in a relevant discipline

 

-evidence of productivity

 

-be very proficient in FACS

 

-be very proficient in standard molecular biology techniques (western blot, qPCR, immunohistochem, etc)

 

-knowledge of cloning is a plus
