Assistant Professor - Research

The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology Oncology and the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center (SSSCC) in New Orleans, LA invite applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor - Research.  We are specifically seeking investigators or physician scientists with the energy and vision to work in Translational Viral Oncology research teams.

LSUHSC has a strong history of collaborative research programs and a state-of-the-art infrastructure to support investigators, including core laboratories offering Genomics, Immunology, flow cytometry, imaging, and Histopathology. Opportunities are available for interaction with the Alcohol Research Center and the Centers of Excellence in Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Cardiovascular Biology, and Neuroscience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Phd, MD, or PhD/MD
  • Substantial record of publications and scientific achievement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate will have a significant, consistent track record of high impact, peer-reviewed publications and team science, as well as a background in teaching graduate and/or medical students and postdoctoral fellows.
  • A focus on translational cancer and biomarker research is highly desirable.
