Assistant/Associate/Full Professor(s) Functional Genomics Initiative
Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman, WA is seeking to recruit an outstanding cohort of scientists to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the areas of reproductive biology, stem cell biology, developmental/growth biology, and disease resistance. The successful cohort will collaborate with each other and existing faculty to build our multimillion dollar Functional Genomics Initiative in order to establish WSU as a leader in the application of genome editing of animals for the advancement of biomedical research and improvement of animal agriculture. The tenure home of successful candidates will be either in the School of Molecular Biosciences (SMB) or the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology (VMP) in the College of Veterinary Medicine, or the Department of Animal Sciences (AS) in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Science. The successful candidates will have research space in state-of-the-art buildings specifically designed and equipped for biological research. Candidates with ongoing or future commitment to application of gene editing technologies with animals and an interest in large animal models are especially encouraged to apply.
Duties will include maintaining a strong, externally funded research program, teaching in undergraduate and graduate courses, and participating in service at the school/department, college, and/or university level.
Job requirements include a PhD or equivalent degree in biosciences or closely related field and a minimum of two years of post-doctoral training or equivalent in basic science, veterinary medicine, medicine, or a related discipline. Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must demonstrate potential to establish and maintain an externally funded research program and applicants for Associate or Full Professor must have an active extramurally-funded research program with a record of peer-reviewed publications and national/international recognition. The successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment and relevant ability to successfully advocate diversity and values of diversity.
