Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology

Goucher College’s Biological Sciences program invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Biology, starting in August 2019. We are looking for a broadly trained physiologist with expertise in neurobiology. Responsibilities include teaching intermediate or advanced courses in neurobiology, anatomy, physiology, participating in introductory courses for majors and non-majors, and developing a research program that includes undergraduates. The hire may also contribute to a public health minor if it is within their expertise. The teaching load is 10 contact hours per semester. We graduate approximately 27% students of color from the biology and biochemistry and molecular biology majors each year and we seek a candidate who will be student centered and strongly committed to teaching and mentoring in an inclusive manner.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Postdoctoral work and teaching experience are preferred.
