The Division of Science and Engineering, Penn State University Abington College is seeking a nine-month, full-time, tenure-line Professor of Biology to start in August of 2019. The successful candidate should be an experienced educator and independent researcher. Preference will be given to candidates who can meet Penn State’s requirements for immediate transfer of tenure at the rank of Full Professor. 

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in biology or closely related field, ten years of teaching experience, a good publication record in reputable journals, and a track record of independent research. Preference will be given to faculty with a history of external grant funding, and those with experience teaching students from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. The successful candidate will be expected to complement the expertise of our current faculty; teach an exclusively undergraduate body of students that includes biology, allied health and non-science majors; conduct independent research involving undergraduate students; act as an academic advisor to biology majors; and provide service to the Division and College. The teaching load is nine contact hours per semester, and course buy-out is available to faculty with external grant funding.
