The Department of Bioengineering at McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. McGill University is a leading research-intensive academic institution in Canada, attracting over one-half billion dollars in competitive research funding each year. The position is preferably at the Assistant Professor level, but outstanding senior candidates are also encouraged to apply. Rank will be determined by the qualifications of the successful applicant, and salary will be commensurate with rank and experience. The Department is in a rapid growth phase, and has recently established an undergraduate major in Bioengineering and commissioned considerable, new, integrated research facilities. The successful candidate will assist in this growth, while maintaining McGill’s international reputation of excellence in research and teaching.

We are seeking outstanding candidates whose area of research includes biomolecular-, cellular- and process-level engineering aspects of synthetic biology and biological manufacturing. However, highly qualified candidates will also be considered from other complementary areas of bioengineering, including: biological materials and mechanics, biomolecular and cellular engineering, diagnostic and high throughput devices, and computational bioengineering.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., with a strong preference for a first degree in engineering. Evidence of exceptional research achievements, or research potential, is indispensable. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to the mission of the University, through outstanding activities in the areas of research, teaching, and service. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association is required.
