QUEENSLAND BRAIN INSTITUTE, THE UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND, BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA

The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), at The University of Queensland (UQ), invites applications for a Faculty position at the Senior Research Fellow (equivalent to Assistant Professor) or Associate Professor level to develop a research program with the primary focus on the cellular and molecular events that follow ischaemic neural damage such as stroke, in humans or in an animal model system.

Established in 2003, QBI is housed on the St Lucia campus of UQ. It is home to more than 450 staff, including 41 group leaders, working across a range of disciplines, focused on discovering the fundamental mechanisms that regulate brain development and function in health and disease.

Over the past decade QBI has become one of the world’s leading neuroscience research institutes. It played a key role in contributing to UQ attaining the highest possible score of 5 for neuroscience, in all of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) reviews (2010, 2012 and 2015), one of only two universities in Australia to achieve this.
