Postdoctoral fellowship at University of California San Francisco is available to pursue translational studies of pulmonary fibrosis.  The goal of the research is to identify the role alveolar epithelial cells play in the development of lung fibrosis.  Specifically, the project will investigate how epithelial cell gene dysregulation promotes lung fibrosis.  The project will utilize novel ex vivo and in vivo models of lung fibrosis mediated by telomere dysfunction to study the profibrotic behavior of lung epithelial cells.  Qualified candidates should have experience in cell and molecular biology, and preferably a background in the biology of aging.
