Chief Development Officer

Longboat is seeking a Chief Development Officer who will be responsible for leading the development of therapy within the ATMP framework

Are you ready to join a team committed to moving cell therapies into clinical and commercial settings by developing Stem Cell Therapy on the basis of a novel source of neonatal quality mesenchymal stem cells, namely amniotic fluid? Longboat is at the start of an exciting journey, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join us on this important mission.

Longboat is a stem cell therapy company, dedicated to developing and commercializing novel treatments for the benefit of patients suffering from rare and life-threatening airway diseases, and to supply high-quality amniotic MSCs to universities, hospitals, the biotech industry, and clinical-stage pharmaceutical companies for other indications.

Longboat is seeking a Chief Development Officer who will be responsible for leading the development of therapy within the ATMP framework, based on the novel type of neonatal quality stem cells from amniotic fluid that Longboat is capable of mass producing. Longboat envisions in-house development to focus on respiratory indications, and the company intends to license and supply its unique cells to other pharmaceutical companies for development in indications outside the respiratory field. Longboat also has the capacity to produce human pulmonary surfactant from the amniotic fluid it collects, and the surfactant is intended to be subject to pharmaceutical development.

This position will lead pre-clinical and clinical development in the company. Candidates will need solid experience in the development of stem cell therapy. The position will report to the CEO and it will be part of the forming management team of the company. A lot of the development work will be outsourced.  All in all, Longboat envisions to be a team of ca. 15 people in a year’s time.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the skills and expertise brought by the candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Design a Development program suitable for the stem cell qualities that Longboat’s MSCs display in vitro. Detailed information will be given to select candidates.
  • Liaise with external pre-clinical and clinical expertise and form an advisory board
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to advance the pipeline with speed and quality
  • Take part in the general management of the company. 

Qualifications

  • Experience in stem cell therapy development, pre-clinically as well as clinically, at a senior level
  • Doctor’s degree
  • An interest in leadership and general management of the company
