Assistant Professor, Neuroscience (tenure-track)
The Neuroscience Program at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia invites applications for a continuing, 10-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin on August 15, 2019.
The interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program at University of the Sciences was established in 2017, and currently includes seven faculty in the Departments of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Program is committed to expanding neuroscience-related research and teaching on campus and recruiting new faculty that can complement and intersect with existing expertise in the program.
Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field and have a strong track record of research and teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. The selected candidate will be expected to establish an independent and extramurally-funded research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students, and to teach introductory neuroscience courses and advanced courses in the area of expertise. While the area of research specialization is open, we are interested in candidates with a focus on neurobiology of cannabinoid drugs, drug and alcohol addiction, pharmacognosy, and circadian rhythm/sleep.
