Lecturer A - Physics and Math
The College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) and the Departments of Physics and Astronomy and Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania are seeking qualified applicants for one full-time lecturer position to begin May 1, 2019. The responsibilities of the position are divided between teaching duties (80%) and advising/administration (20%) for undergraduate programs in LPS. Teaching experience in Physics and Mathematics is preferred. The candidate will teach Physics 101 and Physics 102 for LPS and two math courses per year. The administrative duties for the position include, but are not restricted to, responding to inquiries from prospective students, interviewing prospective students, and assisting with program-related activities. The 12-month position is eligible for reappointment for up to an additional two years, based on an annual performance review and approval of the Dean.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Physics, commitment to undergraduate and continuing education, and previous teaching experience are required; experience and/or interest in online teaching and previous administrative experience are preferred.
