We invite applications for one post: tenured Principal Investigator (Professor) or tenure-track Junior Principal Investigator (Associate Professor). Preference will be given to highly motivated candidates with an outstanding academic background and strong intention to participate in interdisciplinary research. Our institute, Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), is an international research center for materials science, where the official language is English and substantial support is provided for researchers coming from all around the world. AIMR was established in 2007 as one of the WPI research centers and aims to lead materials research beyond conventional ideas with interdisciplinary approaches. It has five research groups: Materials Physics, Non-equilibrium Materials, Soft Materials, Device/System, and Mathematical Science.
