The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital seeks candidates for a full-time research faculty position in the area of musculoskeletal sciences with a focus on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.  The candidate should have an interest in the pathogenesis of various musculoskeletal disorders as well as in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment of orthopedic problems related to the loss or degeneration of tissues as a result of injury, disease, or aging.  Pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo investigations directed toward clinical translation are encouraged.  An academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. 

This position includes a joint position as Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Regenerative Medicine. The Inaugural Director will be charged with establishing the Center for Musculoskeletal Regenerative Medicine, in collaboration with the Brigham Research Institute. The Director will develop a rich training environment for younger investigators interested in Musculoskeletal Regenerative Medicine. 

The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, BioEngineering or a related discipline.  This position includes collaborative opportunities engaging the faculty and facilities at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard Medical School.   

The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain an independently funded laboratory and have leadership experience.
