Open Rank Faculty Position in Epidemiology

            The Department of Comparative Biosciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a faculty position in epidemiology at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor, or tenured Associate or Full Professor.  Outstanding scientists who conduct population health research in the area of children’s environmental health are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in investigators who conduct research on the role of environmental factors on children’s neurodevelopment, but those with strong research programs addressing environmental influences on other aspects of children’s health will also be considered.  The successful applicant will be expected to develop collaborations with a team of researchers on our campus and at other institutions involved in large prospective pregnancy and birth cohort study that is funded through the NIH Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. It is expected that the successful applicant will transition to a leadership role in the Illinois ECHO Project. Research excellence, originality of science and future impact on the field will be key selection criteria. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree, and evidence of a creative, collegial and exceptional research track record commensurate with their current rank.
