Staff Scientist | Immuno-Oncology Core Facility

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

This position will be a key player in carrying out correlative studies related to cancer immunotherapy clinical trials. Assist clinical investigators in protocol development, grant applications, and publications. Develop and validate new protocols for various immuno-oncology applications. Perform data analysis.

Essential Functions:

  • Work on various immuno-oncology projects as assigned under supervision of the director.
  • Carry out correlative studies related to cancer immunotherapy clinical trials.
  • Assist clinical investigators in protocol development, grant applications, and publications.
  • Perform data analysis on data
  • Perform and troubleshoot experiments such as FACS analysis, etc.
  • Develop a good understanding of competing technologies and new technical advances so as to effectively utilize current best practices and devise robust solutions to technical problems.
  • Enhance professional growth and development by reviewing current literature and by participation in educational programs, workshops, conferences, and meetings.
  • Efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple and changing projects and priorities.
  • Maintains lab notes, department records, reports, and files as required.
  • Other miscellaneous administrative tasks.

The Staff Scientist series is designed for career research professionals whose primary function is to support the research infrastructure and activities of the institution. Staff Scientists will bring special skills, knowledge and experience to research programs or institutional core laboratories. Individuals appointed as staff scientists will receive a one-year fixed-term contract.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

  • The Staff Scientist must possess, at a minimum, the U.S. equivalent bachelors or masters degree in an appropriate discipline, and will often have a Ph.D. or other doctoral level degree.
