Assistant/Associate Professor of Immunology
The Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in immunology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The responsibilities include a combination of service, research, and teaching duties. The candidate will annually teach Veterinary Immunology for the Department of Veterinary medicine and Immunology and the Department of Biology and Wildlife. Additional responsibilities include teaching veterinary undergraduate or graduate student courses in immunology or other areas depending on the expertise and interests of the successful applicant.
Applicants must posses a M.D., D.V.M., and/or Ph.D. or equivalent degree(s) in immunology or related field(s). A D.V.M. is preferred, but not required. Postdoctoral research, residency training, and/or biomedical teaching experience are desired. Appointment at the Associate Professor level requires a demonstrated record of extramural funding, collaboration, and the supervision of graduate students, residents or similar experience.
Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with current UAF faculty and the Alaska State Virology Laboratory co-located on the UAF campus as well as with our partnering institution, Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, CO.
