In this role some of your responsibilities include:
- Identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, and additional complications in patients with diabetes.
- Propose new research hypotheses Generate disease insightsCreate and prosecute a drug discovery flow schemeAssess target safety risks
- Lead and assist in the identification, evaluation, and selection of new small and large molecule therapeutic targetsDesign and oversee the implementation of assays for the development of clinical candidate moleculesCollaborate with chemists and protein engineers to create structure-activity relationships and optimize the therapeutic for clinical evaluationRecognize the relationships between therapeutic efficacy, patient subpopulations, clinical trial design and outcomes that significantly impact clinical development

Basic Qualifications
- PhD in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology or related discipline Emphasis on metabolism, lipoprotein physiology, or biology of diabetes and complications preferred
- Experience with drug discovery teams
- Strong writing and oral presentation skills
