Assistant Professor of Biology: Animal Physiologist.  The Biology Department of Wittenberg University seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member who can support Biology majors by teaching courses and providing undergraduate research opportunities in Animal Physiology beginning August 2019.  Teaching responsibilities include courses in vertebrate zoology and animal physiology, and a non-majors course in human anatomy and physiology.  There are opportunities to develop additional upper-level courses in the candidate's specialty. In addition, all faculty contribute to the University’s General Education program by teaching non-majors biology courses, have active research programs that include and engage undergraduates, and fulfill other departmental and university responsibilities.  We are most interested in candidates whose research involves a mixture of field and laboratory techniques.  Resources available to support teaching and research include electronic physiological measurement systems, an SEM, and animal care facilities, in addition to a 35-acre field station on the Little Miami River. There is University funding for both faculty and student research and travel.  Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or ABD) and interest in teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context.
